- And Grade 2: R1 531 032 per annum

Job Purpose- Medical Officer Post
The Western Cape Department of Health invites skilled and passionate radiologists to apply for medical officer posts at Groote Schuur Hospital. These are permanent Medical Specialist (Radiology) vacancies available at Grade 1, 2, and 3 levels. Minimum Requirements- Medical Officer Post
- Educational Qualification:
Appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Radiology - Professional Registration:
Must be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Radiology
Experience Required- Medical Officer Post
- A Grade 1: No experience required after registration with the HPCSA
- Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
- Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
(Foreign-qualified applicants must be registered with a recognized foreign health professional council and meet South African equivalency.)
Inherent Job Requirements- Medical Officer Post
- Participation in the after-hours call system is mandatory
- Commuted overtime is compulsory
- Participation in outreach and support programs

- Clinical expertise in:
- Head and Neck Imaging
- Neuroimaging
- Biopsies
- Pediatric Radiology
- MSK, Mammography, and Ultrasound
- Key qualities:

- Effective teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities- Medical Officer Post
- Manage and supervise clinical service delivery in the Radiology Division
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services in all clinical settings
- Lead the academic training and development of radiology interns and registrars
- Participate in departmental planning, quality assurance, and strategic direction
- Engage with other medical officer posts across disciplines to ensure integrated patient care
- Contribute to outreach services and ensure high standards of patient support
