Minimum Requirements- Medical Officer Posts
- MBChB or equivalent qualification
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Valid (Code B/EB) Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to perform commuted overtime
Experience:
- Grade 1: No experience required post-HPCSA registration (SA-qualified); 1 year for foreign-qualified
- Grade 2: 5 years (SA), 6 years (foreign-qualified)
- Grade 3: 10 years (SA), 11 years (foreign-qualified)
Core Competencies
- Strong background in general medicine, HIV/TB care, maternal and child health
- Capable of performing C-sections, spinal/general anesthesia, and emergency procedures
- Familiarity with public sector protocols and primary healthcare
- Good communication, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to do outreach and support local clinics in the sub-district

- Provide clinical care at Montagu Hospital and surrounding PHC facilities
- Support and supervise junior staff
- Ensure clinical governance and participate in audits and peer reviews
- Deliver health outreach programs and contribute to district health strategy
