The salary includes service benefits such as a 13th cheque, employer pension contribution, housing allowance and medical-aid allowance, subject to applicable conditions.
Minimum Requirements
- A qualification that permits registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist Assistant Post-Basic.
- Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant Post-Basic.
- A valid Code B or EB driver’s licence.
- Willingness to perform regular after-hours duties.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain professional standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of national and provincial health policies.
- Knowledge of the Medicines and Related Substances Act.
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act.
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act.
- Appropriate clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge.
- Knowledge of JAC or WellSky dispensing systems.
- Good time-management and task-prioritisation skills.
- Ability to plan work and meet required deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain effective control of pharmaceutical stock.
- Support effective pharmaceutical care and dispensing.
- Support services provided through the Chronic Dispensing Unit.
- Assist with pharmacy data collection and record keeping.
- Promote pharmaceutical advisory services with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to the delivery of effective and high-quality healthcare services.
